Bray Center, Inc.

Established in 1961 by neighbors sitting at kitchen tables and on front porches, this non-profit social service organization located in the central city addresses issues of education and economic development, public safety and community activism. Owned by residents of the neighborhoods and governed by a board of directors whose membership combines neighborhood leadership and young adults, the direction of the organization is bold and in touch with the least served in the community.

Young James Stills ... one of the good guys.

James Stills (right), who grew up in Racine and is employed at SC Johnson, thanks Executive Director Jameel Ghuari (left) and Board President Daud Ahmad (center), both of the Bray Center, for helping him distribute the 40 coats Stills purchased for children.
